Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos group-slug and life-loss deck helmed by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The plan floods the board with pingers, tax enchantments, and damage amplifiers so opponents bleed on every upkeep, land drop, spell, and draw; each first life-loss on an opponent's turn grows Valgavoth and refuels the hand. Primary wins are classic drain loops (Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond, Bloodchief Ascension + Mindcrank), backed by lethal one-shot finishers (Heartless Hidetsugu under Fiery Emancipation/Dictate of the Twin Gods, Wound Reflection, Torment of Hailfire, Peer into the Abyss). The commander is a repeatable draw engine rather than a combo piece, turning the table's pain into card advantage while the 99 supplies multiple independent kill lines. Secondary pressure comes from devotion drains (Gray Merchant of Asphodel), combat threats, and pure slug attrition.
