Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls leads a red-black pain-punisher deck that converts every opponent life loss into card draw and +1/+1 counters. The primary plan is to establish symmetric life-loss and draw effects-Spiteful Visions, Sulfuric Vortex, and Mogis-so that each turn cycle weakens all opponents while growing Valgavoth into a lethal flyer. Commander removal is offset by redundant drain pieces like Sheoldred, Fate Unraveler, and Kederekt Parasite. Secondary paths include board-sweeping with Massacre Wurm or Decree of Pain to trigger Valgavoth and end with Gray Merchant, and reanimating Valgavoth, Terror Eater via Rakdos Joins Up for a massive lifelink beat. The deck is intentionally slow, resilient midrange that wins through incremental damage and commander combat.
