Deck overview

This mono-black midrange deck leverages Starscream, Power Hungry // Starscream, Seeker Leader alongside the Monarch mechanic to transform rapid card draw into direct life loss. By casting Starscream via More Than Meets the Eye on turn 3, the deck uses its evasive vehicle face to establish and steal the Monarch, converting into a potent burn engine that deals 2 damage to opponents for every card drawn. Backed by over twenty card draw spells and recurring engines such as Greed, Black Market Connections, and Skullclamp, the deck rapidly churns through resources while steadily depleting opposing life totals. Heavy attrition elements like Court of Ambition and Sheoldred, Whispering One constrain opposing hands and boards, while dense creature removal and sweepers maintain defensive stability. Although vulnerable to combat theft of the Monarch and lacking stack interaction, the deck recovers quickly through cheap vehicle recasts with haste.
