Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Zombie tribal midrange strategy commanded by Varina, Lich Queen. The game plan focuses on deploying early Zombie creatures to enable Varina's attack trigger on Turn 4. This trigger loots through the library, stocks the graveyard with creature cards, and buffers the life total. During the mid-game, the deck capitalizes on discard and death synergies using cards like Archfiend of Ifnir, Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver, and God-Eternal Oketra. It closes out games between Turns 6 and 8 by amassing a wide army of Zombie tokens buffed with evasion from Eternal Skylord or On Wings of Gold, while draining the table with Wayward Servant, Corpse Knight, and The Scarab God. Graveyard recursion via Zombie Apocalypse and Rot Hulk provides resilient recovery against board sweepers.
