Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Boros Equipment Voltron and extra-combat build commanded by Lightning, Army of One. The primary strategy focuses on deploying low-cost equipment tutors and equip-cost reducers (Sigarda's Aid, Puresteel Paladin, Forge Anew) on early turns to suit up Lightning by Turn 4. Lightning's native first strike, trample, and lifelink ensure consistent combat connections, while her Stagger ability doubles all subsequent damage dealt to the defending player. The deck leverages this damage amplification alongside extra combat spells like Aggravated Assault, Aurelia, the Warleader, Karlach, Fury of Avernus, and Seize the Day to rapidly eliminate opponents one by one. Backed by a dense suite of tutors and format-ceiling protection pieces like Deflecting Swat, Teferi's Protection, and Mithril Coat, the deck maintains aggressive pressure while guarding its key pieces. When needed, the combination of Aggravated Assault and Sword of Feast and Famine provides an instant infinite combat finish.
