Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos spellslinger and reanimator strategy led by Magar of the Magic Strings. The game plan revolves around filtering massive instant and sorcery spells into the graveyard using looting and rummaging effects like Faithless Looting, Cathartic Reunion, and Thrill of Possibility, or tutoring them with Vile Entomber and Oriq Loremage. Magar animates these cards as face-down 3/3 creatures that cast free copies of the noted spells whenever they deal combat damage to an opponent. Evasion pieces such as Key to the City, Prowler's Helm, and Access Tunnel ensure these puppets connect consistently. High-impact spells like Army of the Damned, Hit the Mother Lode, and Wake the Dragon rapidly establish an overwhelming board presence, while pingers like Guttersnipe and Black Waltz No. 3 drain opponents on every free cast. The deck executes a reliable Turn 5 onset and closes the game on Turn 7.
