Deck overview

This deck is a thematic mono-black exhibition build centered on Liliana Vess, her planeswalker cards, and her lore-bound contract demons. Commanded by Liliana the Repentant, the deck leverages early creature deployments, edict effects, and self-mill to control the board while filling the graveyard with high-impact threats. In the mid game, a dense suite of Liliana planeswalkers generates steady card advantage and forces symmetrical discard, steadily grinding down opposing hand sizes and board states. The strategy culminates around Turn 6 with game-ending mass recursion spells such as Living Death, Breach the Multiverse, and Command the Dreadhorde, bringing back devastating payoffs like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Bloodletter of Aclazotz, and Syr Konrad, the Grim to drain opponents rapidly and secure victory through overwhelming combat damage.
