Deck overview

This mono-red aggro deck is commanded by Gornog, the Red Reaper, a commander that invalidates opposing blockers by turning defending creatures into Cowards and scaling attacking power based on the total Coward count. The deck curves low-cost Warrior creatures into Gornog on Turn 3 to begin applying immediate combat pressure and stacking permanent Coward designations across the table. In the mid-game, damage doublers, extra combat steps, and tribal anthems accelerate board power to present lethal combat swings by Turn 5 and close the game on Turn 6. An incidental infinite combat combo between Combat Celebrant and Helm of the Host provides an alternate win condition. While resilient against single-target interaction through protective equipment and redirection spells, the strategy relies heavily on creature combat and requires careful navigation around color-blind mass exile sweepers.
