Deck overview

This Golgari deck builds an aggressive synergy engine around Blech, Loafing Pest, turning life gain into team-wide +1/+1 counters across Pests, Bats, Insects, Snakes, and Spiders. The deck establishes early board presence using low-mana typal creatures and repeatable life gain triggers, completing its primary setup on Turn 4. Once Blech enters combat, incremental life gain rapidly scales the board. By Turn 5, force multipliers like Scute Swarm, Iridescent Hornbeetle, and Starscape Cleric push the table into a must-answer state. The deck finishes opponents by Turn 7 through wide trample attacks with Kodama of the West Tree, an overrun with Triumph of the Hordes, or direct life-drain flings via Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. It runs efficient interaction and resilient protection spells, though it lacks direct tutors and non-targeted stack interaction.
