Deck overview

This Golgari deck is an engine-driven aristocrats and +1/+1 counters strategy commanded by Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest. It uses ramp in the first three turns to cast Mazirek on Turn 4 or 5. Once Mazirek is on the battlefield, every sacrifice trigger buffs your entire creature board. The primary win condition is an infinite two-card loop with Basking Broodscale. When Broodscale receives a counter, it creates an Eldrazi Spawn token; sacrificing the Spawn for mana triggers Mazirek, putting another counter on Broodscale and repeating the cycle infinitely. When paired with drain outlets like Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, or Mirkwood Bats, this generates immediate lethal damage to all opponents. Alternatively, the deck grinds out games through an oppressive attrition suite featuring Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and Tergrid, God of Fright, turning symmetric sacrifice spells into one-sided board wipes that pump your army to lethal combat thresholds.
