Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mono-Green Stompy strategy commanded by Ghalta, Primal Hunger. The game plan focuses on deploying highly efficient, undercosted creatures with high power ratings on turns 1 through 3, such as Steel Leaf Champion, Pugnacious Hammerskull, and Rhonas the Indomitable. This rapid accumulation of power discounts Ghalta down to its minimum cost of two green mana by turn 4. Once Ghalta enters the battlefield, the deck transitions into an aggressive beatdown phase, using trample and overrun effects like Overwhelming Stampede and Unnatural Growth to eliminate opponents over turns 5 through 7. Power-based card draw engines such as Garruk's Uprising, Elemental Bond, and Rishkar's Expertise keep the hand full of replacement threats. While highly resilient against single-target disruption due to heavy threat redundancy, the deck remains vulnerable to mass board wipes and noncreature stack-based combo strategies.
