Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Grixis Spellslinger storm deck commanded by Fire Lord Azula. Azula generates two red mana each combat through Firebending and duplicates every spell cast while she is attacking. The deck leverages this ability by chaining low-cost instants, cantrips, and rituals to double its card draw, mana generation, and damage output. Redundant pingers like Guttersnipe, Firebrand Archer, and Coruscation Mage turn each spell cast into lethal damage distributed across all opponents simultaneously. The deck is supported by powerful cost reducers, magecraft value engines such as Archmage Emeritus and Storm-Kiln Artist, and graveyard recursion from Will of the Jeskai and Lier, Disciple of the Drowned. A deep suite of efficient counterspells and protective spells like Bolt Bend and Samut, Tyrant of Naktamun shields the combo turn, allowing the deck to close games decisively on Turn 5.
