Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Mono-Black Wraith tribal and reanimation strategy helmed by Witch-king of Angmar. Leveraging the unique deckbuilding exception of nine copies of Nazgûl, the deck achieves immense mechanical redundancy. Whenever the Ring tempts you—triggered by casting Nazgûl, taking combat damage with your commander in play, or triggering Call of the Ring—every Wraith you control gains a +1/+1 counter, turning a modest board into an overwhelming, evasive threat in just a few turns. Haakon, Stromgald Scourge serves as a hidden engine piece, allowing you to repeatedly cast all nine Nazgûl directly from your graveyard after pitching them with the Witch-king's free discard ability or finding them via Buried Alive. A robust mono-black mana base anchored by Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast fuels high-impact mass reanimation spells like Living Death and Rise of the Dark Realms to close out games.
