Cloud Is the Reason I’m Hooked on Equipment Decks Again by user9960138

Format: Commander

Commander: Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER leads a Naya equipment-aggro deck built to turn the commander into an enormous, hasty, drawing machine. The primary plan is to ramp into Cloud, attach high-impact equipment such as Colossus Hammer and Excalibur, then use attack triggers to draw cards and create Treasure tokens, converting that mana into repeated combats through Aggravated Assault or Hexplate Wallbreaker. Cloud, Midgar Mercenary acts as a hidden commander, tutoring Equipment and doubling Cloud's draw/treasure triggers. Secondary paths include go-wide wins with For Mirrodin tokens and Goldwardens' Gambit, plus a beatdown backup with Wyleth and Akiri. The deck protects its fragile equipment engine with Boros Charm, Heroic Intervention, and Robe of Stars.
