Deck overview

Marneus Calgar leads an Esper token-company deck that turns every token event into card draw and every sacrifice into drain. The primary plan is to multiply token creation with Anointed Procession, Mondrak, Glory Dominus, and Thalisse, Reverent Medium while drawing through Skullclamp and Marneus's Master Tactician. The deck wins in two ways: a wide token beatdown with For the Emperor! or Caretaker's Talent, or a compact infinite loop using Ashnod's Altar plus a token doubler that makes infinite mana and creatures until a drain payoff such as Mirkwood Bats, Elas il-Kor, or Corpse Knight finishes the table. Marneus is both card advantage engine and combo piece, so protecting him with Lightning Greaves or Malakir Rebirth is critical. Secondary lines grind with aristocrat triggers from Teysa Karlov, Kambal, and Bastion of Remembrance.
