Deck overview

This mono-blue tempo deck leverages cheap, evasive flying creatures to dominate combat and generate overwhelming card advantage. In the opening turns, it curves out with low-mana flyers such as Cloudfin Raptor, Spectral Sailor, and Ledger Shredder. These early creatures reduce the casting cost of the commander, The Lord of the Eagles, allowing it to flash into play as an 8/8 threat for as little as two blue mana. The engine converts combat connections into fresh cards through effects like Bident of Thassa, Coastal Piracy, and Reconnaissance Mission, fueling a dense suite of cheap counterspells and spot removal. The deck closes games by scaling its evasive army with powerful anthems like Gravitational Shift and Coat of Arms or clearing opposing blockers with asymmetric sweepers like Raise the Palisade and Cyclonic Rift.
