New Untitled Deck by user6442591

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-red deck builds a critical mass of Treasure tokens around Smaug the Magnificent, using his haste so he can attack the turn he lands and convert the Treasure count into direct damage. The primary plan is to ramp through Goldspan Dragon, Xorn, Academy Manufactor, and token bursts, then close with either Hellkite Tyrant's twenty-artifact upkeep win or a damage-tripled Orthion/Terror of the Peaks burst. Smaug is the face of the deck, but he is a value/removal piece rather than the engine; the treasure core works even if he is not cast. Secondary paths include large dragon beatdown with Utvara Hellkite and extra combat from Desert Were-Worm. The deck is vulnerable to artifact hate and stack interaction but can out-value slower pods.
