Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Nemata, Primeval Warden to execute an asymmetric aristocrats and creature control game plan. The core strategy accelerates mana early to deploy Nemata alongside repeatable sacrifice enablers and edict effects. Nemata's replacement ability exiles opposing creatures upon death, neutralizing graveyard strategies and generating a continuous stream of 1/1 Saproling tokens. These tokens fuel draw engines, pump Nemata, and trigger grave-pact effects like Dictate of Erebos and Grave Pact to keep opposing boards clear. The deck restricts aggressive attacks using Elephant Grass, Crawlspace, and Silent Arbiter, while converting its token swarm and life-drain engines into a win through combat and commander damage. Although the deck lacks nonland tutors and instant-win combos, its high functional redundancy and resilient recursion suite allow it to grind down opponents through sustained attrition.
