Deck overview

This deck is an Esper wheel and attrition strategy led by Elenda and Azor. It leverages symmetric draw-and-discard spells like Windfall, Dark Deal, and Echo of Eons to trigger asymmetric payoffs. Cards such as Liliana's Caress, Megrim, and Entropic Battlecruiser convert wheel effects into massive life drain, while Archfiend of Ifnir wipes opposing creature boards with -1/-1 counters. Waste Not and Bone Miser generate huge mana and token advantages, while Notion Thief and Teferi's Puzzle Box lock opponents out of their hands entirely. The commander provides a late-game mana sink and creates a massive flying, lifelinking token army whenever cards are drawn. The deck ramps on early turns, deploys payoffs on Turn 4, and initiates game-altering wheels on Turn 5, closing out the table through combat and direct burn by Turn 7.
