Deck overview

This deck is a focused Selesnya +1/+1 counters aggro strategy built around Sovereign Okinec Ahau. The game plan revolves around deploying early creatures that enter with or generate counters, such as Botanical Brawler, Faithful Watchdog, and Kami of Whispered Hopes. Once the commander enters the battlefield, its attack trigger geometrically expands the board by granting each modified creature additional counters equal to the difference between its current power and base power. By Turn 5, this compounding growth turns moderate attackers into massive threats capable of eliminating an opponent in a single swing. Dedicated evasion enablers like Abzan Falconer, Garruk's Uprising, and Champion of Lambholt prevent ground blockers from stalling combat. The deck backs up its aggressive clock with a dense suite of flexible protection spells, including Heroic Intervention, Flawless Maneuver, and Teferi's Protection, which shield the established board against sweepers while the deck closes out the game on Turn 6.
