Deck overview

This is a mono-black rat-tribal swarm deck helmed by Marrow-Gnawer, built to convert a modest board of rats into an overwhelming colony. The commander gives every Rat fear - near-unblockable combat - and his tap ability turns one sacrificial rat into a fresh wave of tokens, exploding exponentially once Thornbite Staff untaps him on every death. The deck's primary wins are combat through force-multipliers (Coat of Arms, Banner of Kinship, Sword of the Squeak, Eldrazi Monument) with a poison finish via Karumonix, the Rat King, mass life loss through Syr Konrad, the Grim plus heavy self-mill, or a life-total-ending Exsanguinate. It's a graveyard-loving, creature-forward deck that happily sacrifices its own board to draw cards, drain life, and push through unblockable damage.
