Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages an unconventional synergy engine centered on commander Abigale, Eloquent First-Year. The strategy exploits oversized creatures with severe mechanical drawbacks, such as Phyrexian Soulgorger, Rotting Regisaur, and Woolly Razorback. Under normal conditions, these creatures burden their controller with cumulative upkeep, forced discards, or defender. Abigale's enter-the-battlefield ability removes all abilities from a target creature while granting flying, first strike, and lifelink counters. This turns low-mana drawbacks into colossal, evasive aerial beaters as early as turn 4. A deep package of cheap flicker spells like Ephemerate and Cloudshift serves double duty, protecting key threats from spot removal while re-triggering Abigale to neutralize new beaters. With asymmetric board wipes like Damning Verdict and direct life drain from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, the deck applies relentless combat pressure to close out games.
