Deck overview

This Derevi, Empyrial Tactician deck is a competitive Bant Stax Midrange build designed to control game pacing through asymmetric resource denial before executing compact infinite combos. The deck leverages dense fast mana acceleration (Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond, Mana Vault, Sol Ring) and evasive creatures to accelerate board development and trigger Derevi's tap and untap abilities. Opponents are locked down under high-impact stax pieces such as Winter Orb, Static Orb, Drannith Magistrate, and Collector Ouphe, while Derevi breaks parity by tapping opposing lock pieces before your untap step and untapping friendly mana sources. Card advantage engines like Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, and The One Ring sustain continuous card flow and answer density. The deck finishes games decisively via the Heliod, Sun-Crowned plus Walking Ballista infinite damage combo or an Isochron Scepter plus Dramatic Reversal engine, heavily shielded by Grand Abolisher, Silence, Ranger-Captain of Eos, and free countermagic.
