Commander: Lord of the Nazgûl

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a blue-black instant/sorcery control deck built around Lord of the Nazgul, converting every spell cast into a 3/3 menace Wraith and, once nine Wraiths are on the battlefield, granting the whole team base 9/9. The nine copies of Nazgul serve as deathtouch blockers and a self-buffing beatdown package as the Ring tempts you. The primary finisher is the Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal loop: with mana rocks such as Sol Ring, Mana Vault, or Grim Monolith covering the {2} activation, the Scepter untaps itself and every rock with each copy, generating infinite spell casts and therefore infinite Wraith tokens under the commander. A 2.03 average mana value, a roughly one-dozen-card tutor suite (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Imperial Seal, Muddle the Mixture), and premium engines (Necropotence, Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora) make the deck highly consistent both at controlling the table and assembling its kill.
