This deck is an Abzan toughness-matters combat powerhouse led by Doran, Besieged by Time. The strategy turns high-toughness creatures and defenders into massive offensive threats. Doran provides a passive cost reduction on creature spells with high toughness and triggers on attacks or blocks to boost power and toughness by the difference between them. Early turns focus on ramping with mana creatures like Overgrown Battlement and Sylvan Caryatid while deploying low-cost, high-toughness walls. Once Doran and assault enablers such as Assault Formation or Bedrock Tortoise hit the battlefield, modest blockers like Indomitable Ancients and Unhallowed Phalanx attack for enormous damage.
