Deck overview

Heartless Hidetsugu leads a high-velocity burn strategy designed to eliminate the entire table in a single activation. The commander taps to deal damage to each player equal to half their life total rounded down. By pairing Hidetsugu with damage doublers or triplers like Furnace of Rath, Dictate of the Twin Gods, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, or Isengard Unleashed, a single activation deals lethal damage to all players with even life totals. The deck supports this game plan by deploying haste enablers, manipulating life totals with small burn spells, and breaking symmetry with lifelink equipment, damage prevention, or survival effects.
