Deck overview

This deck is a focused mono-black Zombie aristocrats and attrition engine led by Liliana, Heretical Healer. The strategy deploys low-cost Zombie fodder and sacrifice outlets to transform Liliana early into Liliana, Defiant Necromancer, generating planeswalker value, hand disruption, and repeatable creature recursion. As the game develops, the deck controls opposing boards through asymmetric sacrifice effects like Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos while exiling opposing threats with Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet. The primary win condition revolves around establishing aristocrat life-drain pieces such as Blood Artist, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Vengeful Bloodwitch, culminating in a massive burst of death triggers via Tombstone Stairwell or an overwhelming board of Zombie tokens buffed by lords like Death Baron and Lord of the Accursed. The deck exhibits high card flow, potent creature removal, and robust graveyard recovery, though it remains vulnerable to early graveyard exile and targeted enchantment removal.
