Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Selesnya Voltron and tempo strategy commanded by Sergeant John Benton. The game plan revolves around accelerating Benton onto the battlefield on Turn 2 using a dense suite of 1-drop mana dorks and land enablers. Once in play, Benton attacks immediately with haste and trample. Casting cheap, high-rate pump spells such as Invigorate, Might of Old Krosa, and Embiggen inflates Benton's power, dealing massive combat damage and triggering Share Intelligence to draw 6 to 15+ cards in a single combat step. This massive influx of cards supplies an endless stream of 1-mana protection spells like Blacksmith's Skill, Loran's Escape, and Tyvar's Stand to keep Benton untouchable. The deck eliminates opponents sequentially across Turns 3 through 5 using lethal commander damage, double strike enablers, and asymmetric board wipes like Single Combat to clear path obstacles.
