This Orzhov deck leverages King of the Oathbreakers to turn self-targeting spells into explosive token generation and board protection. Whenever you target your Spirits with cheap spells like Heaven's Gate or Cauldron Haze, they phase out, dodging opposing interaction and returning on your next untap step to create an army of 1/1 flying Spirit tokens. Payoffs like Mirkwood Bats, Kambal, Profiteering Mayor, and Elspeth, Storm Slayer turn this token influx into rapid life-drain and overwhelming combat damage. The deck also features defensive taxing pieces like Ghostly Prison and Authority of the Consuls to buy time against fast creature strategies. While it lacks fast mana and dedicated tutors, its ability to phase its entire board out in response to board wipes gives it exceptional resilience in mid-game creature combat.
