Format: Commander

Commander: Skullbriar, the Walking Grave

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Skullbriar, the Walking Grave leads an aggressive Golgari Voltron strategy centered on permanent counter accumulation. Because Skullbriar retains all counters across graveyard, exile, and command zone transitions, early combat damage builds compounding pressure that persists through standard removal. The deck accelerates this growth with counter doublers like Corpsejack Menace and The Earth Crystal, alongside burst pumps like Invigorating Surge. Evasion enablers including Rancor, Pridemalkin, and Rogue's Passage ensure combat damage connects directly to life totals. Secondary threats like The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride and Scute Swarm capitalize on board development to close games if the commander is detained.
