Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Selesnya turbo-Voltron build centered around Sergeant John Benton. By utilizing dense 0-CMC fast mana and 1-drop mana dorks, the deck consistently casts its commander on turn 1 or turn 2. Because John Benton has innate haste and trample, he immediately attacks and converts cheap or free pump spells like Invigorate, Mutagenic Growth, and Bounty of the Hunt into massive bursts of card draw. Drawing 6 to 10 cards on turn 2 allows the pilot to chain into free protection spells (Silence, Veil of Summer, Flawless Maneuver, Legolas's Quick Reflexes) and lethal Voltron payoffs such as All That Glitters, Belt of Giant Strength, and Genji Glove. The deck rapidly eliminates opponents one by one through commander damage while shielding its board from disruption.
