Deck overview

This deck is a focused Temur stompy strategy centered on Illuna, Apex of Wishes and the mutate mechanic from Ikoria. The primary game plan utilizes early turns to deploy efficient mana ramp alongside low-cost, non-Human host creatures such as Mysterious Egg, Glimmerbell, and Pollywog Symbiote. On Turn 5, casting Illuna for its mutate cost triggers an exile cascade that drops a high-impact permanent directly onto the battlefield without paying its mana cost. High-end hits like Colossification, Nyxbloom Ancient, and Quartzwood Crasher quickly turn the mutate stack into a game-ending lethal threat. From Turn 6 onward, the deck executes sequential attacks to eliminate opponents with lethal commander and trample combat damage. While vulnerable to targeted removal directed at its tall mutate piles and lacking hard stax or instant counterspells, the deck boasts robust mana acceleration and explosive midrange redundancy.
