Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo Boros spellslinger and combat aggro strategy led by Monica Rambeau // Photon, Living Light. The primary game plan revolves around assembling a board of prowess creatures, token generators, and mana engines before transforming the commander into Photon, Living Light. Once transformed, every noncreature spell distributes +1/+1 counters across the entire army, turning low-cost cantrips and combat tricks into overwhelming, board-wide pump effects. Key force multipliers like Monastery Mentor, Leonin Lightscribe, and Zada, Hedron Grinder scale spell casts into lethal attacks, while Crash Through and Fists of Flame ensure combat damage pushes past opposing blockers. Protection pieces such as Boros Charm and Shelter—frequently fetched via Sunforger—shield critical creatures from removal, and asymmetric sweepers like Damning Verdict clear path obstacles while preserving your modified threats to close out the game by Turn 8.
