Deck overview

The deck uses Urza, Lord High Artificer to turn a wide artifact board into blue mana while developing an artifact-combo engine. The main win is Isochron Scepter imprinting Dramatic Reversal with at least three nonland artifact mana. The loop creates unlimited mana; Urza, Lord High Artificer converts repeated artifact taps into blue mana, allowing Whir of Invention to find Walking Ballista and deal lethal damage to all three opponents. Tutors such as Tribute Mage, Tezzeret the Seeker, Reshape, and Inventors' Fair improve access, while Force of Will, Force of Negation, and Fierce Guardianship protect the final attempt. The deck also uses Winter Orb, Static Orb, and Back to Basics as disruptive side plans, but these are not reliable total locks. Its main weaknesses are the slow commander cost, dependence on several distinct roles, and limited recovery after multiple key artifacts are removed.
