Deck overview

This mono-red tribal stompy deck is built around Lathliss, Dragon Queen, aiming to overwhelm opponents with an escalating armada of high-power flying Dragons. The deck's early turns are dedicated to deploying mana acceleration and cost reducers such as Dragonspeaker Shaman, Herald's Horn, and Dragonlord's Servant to cast its 6-mana commander by turn 5. Once Lathliss is on the battlefield, subsequent nontoken Dragon casts generate free 5/5 flying Dragon tokens, quickly doubling the deck's board presence and damage output. Standalone bombs like Utvara Hellkite, Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, Terror of Mount Velus, and Scourge of Valkas provide rapid burst damage, direct creature burn, and extra combat phases. While vulnerable to board sweepers and lacking stack protection, the deck compensates with asymmetric board wipes like Breath Weapon and Desolation of Smaug that spare Dragons, alongside high threat density that allows it to maintain severe pressure even without its commander.
