Deck overview

This mono-black Aristocrats deck is commanded by Ayara, First of Locthwain, functioning as both a reliable card-draw outlet and a consistent drain engine from the command zone. The game plan focuses on deploying recurring creature fodder, such as Ophiomancer, Dreadhorde Invasion, and Reassembling Skeleton, and converting those bodies into continuous card advantage and incremental life drain. In the mid-game, the deck leverages asymmetric stax and board-control pieces like Dictate of Erebos, Contamination, and Opposition Agent to stifle opposing game plans. The deck closes out games around Turn 8 through explosive devotion and death triggers powered by Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Abhorrent Overlord, Bolas's Citadel, and mass reanimation via Victimize. While vulnerable to graveyard hate and lacking artifact interaction or stack protection, the deck possesses high functional redundancy and sustained attrition power.
