Format: Commander

Commander: Y'shtola, Night's Blessed

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Y'shtola is an Esper drain-control deck that converts life loss into card draw and damage, backed by a compact Thassa's Oracle kill. The early game uses Y'shtola, Kambal, Mai, Sheoldred, Notion Thief, and Vile Consumption to force small life payments and draw extra cards, while every 3+ mana noncreature spell makes the commander hit all opponents for 2. The deterministic finisher is Demonic Consultation emptying the library into Thassa's Oracle, with Demonic Tutor, Grim Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, and Seek the Heart assembling it. Doomsday is a slower backup; Alisaie is only a cost-reducer and her partner absent, so there is no hidden commander.
