Spell slinger by dragonlordphilzy

Format: Commander

Commander: Niv-Mizzet, Parun

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Izzet spellslinger deck is built around Niv-Mizzet, Parun as the primary engine, leveraging his triggered ability to draw a card whenever you cast an instant or sorcery while pinging opponents for 1. The deck aims to generate sustained card advantage and incremental burn through a high density of instants and sorceries, using combat as a secondary win condition with pumped creatures and extra combat spells like Savage Beating. It packs a solid interaction suite of counterspells, spot removal, and bounce, but lacks a compact infinite combo or consistent tutor access, making it a fair value-control deck that wins through attrition over many turns. Secondary commanders in the 99 (Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius) provide redundancy but are not reliably tutorable.
