Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is a dedicated lifegain and aristocrats combo engine piloted by Astarion, the Decadent. The primary game plan revolves around assembling the classic two-card infinite drain loop consisting of Exquisite Blood (or Bloodthirsty Conqueror) and a life-loss-on-gain outlet such as Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, or Enduring Tenacity. When assembled, any single point of life gain or loss triggers a self-sustaining loop that drains all three opponents to zero in a single turn. Outside of the infinite combo, the deck leverages Astarion, the Decadent alongside high-impact damage doublers like Bloodletter of Aclazotz, Rush of Dread, and Sorin Markov to execute massive burst damage during the end step. A robust Orzhov removal package provides control over opposing threats, while taxing enchantments like Painful Quandary and Polluted Bonds whittle away enemy life totals.
