Deck overview

This Boros deck pairs Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainer with the Noble Heritage background to create an oppressive forced-combat engine. Noble Heritage reliably places two +1/+1 counters onto Baeloth upon entry and during each upkeep, rapidly raising his power to 6 and beyond. In doing so, Baeloth passively goads every opposing creature with lesser power, compelling opponents to batter each other while generating Treasure tokens for the pilot whenever goaded creatures perish. Simultaneously, Noble Heritage grants the pilot protection from opponents who accept counters, making crackback nearly impossible. The supporting equipment suite—including Excalibur, Sword of Eden, Blackblade Reforged, and Hammer of Nazahn—accelerates Baeloth's power growth to encompass larger threats and threaten lethal commander damage. A dense suite of defensive spells such as Flawless Maneuver, Deflecting Swat, and Teferi's Protection shields the commanders from interaction while opponents wear each other down.
