Deck overview

This mono-black deck is built around life-loss and mill synergy, led by The Master of Lake-town. The commander's trigger mills whenever any player loses life, accelerating graveyards for drain payoff and reanimation. The primary game plan is to deploy incremental drainers (e.g. Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Syr Konrad, the Grim) alongside Mindcrank and Bloodchief Ascension to chain infinite life-loss loops. backup wins come from Gray Merchant of Asphodel devotion swings, huge Exsanguinate, or Rise of the Dark Realms. Heavy self-mill fills the graveyard for recursion engines like Virtue of Persistence and Phyrexian Reclamation. The deck plays a value grind, converting every death and mill into direct damage, then combos to close.
