Deck overview

This Orzhov combo-control deck leverages life totals as both a weapon and a primary resource, helmed by Mister Negative. The primary strategy focuses on ramping into a low-cost life sink such as Wall of Blood, Doom Whisperer, or Blood Celebrant, accompanied by life-drain conversion engines like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Vizkopa Guildmage, or Enduring Tenacity. On Turn 5, casting Mister Negative allows the pilot to reduce their own life total to 1 in response to the enter-the-battlefield trigger and exchange life totals with a 40-life opponent. This immediately brings that player to 1 life while causing the pilot to gain 39 life, triggering massive asymmetric drain across the table. Robust protection pieces like Grand Abolisher, Angel's Grace, and Flare of Fortitude safeguard the pilot during dangerous 1-life windows, while backup lines using Bolas's Citadel and Aetherflux Reservoir ensure reliable closes.
