Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger and combat-aggro deck led by Rootha, Mastering the Moment. The primary strategy revolves around casting high-mana-value instants and sorceries—often discounted via delve, affinity, or cost reducers—to trigger Rootha's ability and generate massive flying Elemental tokens with haste each combat. Mid-game turns leverage token doublers and copiers such as Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, Rionya, Fire Dancer, and Determined Iteration to scale single large threats into table-wide lethal strikes. Strong card advantage engines like Archmage Emeritus and Curiosity Crafter maintain hand size, while damage-based sweepers and flexible bounce spells clear blockers and disrupt opposing boards. The deck closes games rapidly once big spells resolve, relying on high air power, extra combat steps from Full Throttle, and overwhelming team buffs from Surge to Victory.
