Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black control and combo engine commanded by Doctor Doom, Unrivaled. The primary strategy focuses on self-milling and drawing cards rapidly to empty the library, using Doctor Doom's tap ability as an unblockable win condition. Dense low-cost mana rocks and big-mana lands accelerate Doctor Doom onto the battlefield by Turn 4. From there, the deck uses mass draw spells like Peer into the Abyss and sacrifice engines like Altar of Dementia to strip away its own library while draining opponents with Syr Konrad, the Grim and Dreadhound. Robust equipment shields key pieces from targeted removal, while an extensive suite of black removal spells keeps opposing boards under control. If Doctor Doom is removed, the deck seamlessly transitions into a lethal aristocrats burn plan through repeated creature recursion and life-drain triggers.
