Rat Horde by TheAndrewsArchives

Format: Commander

Commander: Vren, the Relentless

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Rat Tribal strategy helmed by Vren, the Relentless. The primary game plan revolves around controlling the board through targeted removal, edicts, and mass creature wipes, leveraging Vren s ability to exile opponent creatures and generate an army of ever-growing Rat tokens each end step. The deck then amplifies these tokens with tribal pump effects like Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm and Banner of Kinship to overwhelm opponents through combat. Secondary win conditions include using Valley Rotcaller for life drain, Piper of the Swarm to steal key creatures, and Marrow-Gnawer to create explosive token turns. The commander is essential for the primary token engine, making the deck heavily dependent on Vren being on the battlefield.
