Aphelia Snakes by Sniperfreak101

Format: Commander

Commander: Aphelia, Viper Whisperer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Golgari deathtouch-tribal deck helmed by Aphelia, Viper Whisperer, built around a two-phase game plan. First, deploy cheap deathtouch creatures and token generators to control the board and accumulate value through drain effects (Hooded Blightfang, Enduring Tenacity) and card draw (Ohran Frostfang, Vraska Joins Up). Second, once a critical mass of Snake and Gorgon creatures is established, activate Aphelia, Viper Whisperer's {4}{B} ability to halve opponents' life totals on combat damage, converting incremental chip damage into a game-ending clock. Alternate win conditions include Fynn, the Fangbearer's poison counters and Unstoppable Slasher's half-life trigger. The deck forgoes fast combos in favor of resilient, incremental value and board control.
