Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Aristocrats and Reanimator strategy piloted by Nethroi, Apex of Death. The game plan focuses on filling the graveyard with low-power utility creatures, mana dorks, and sacrifice outlets through continuous self-mill and dedicated tutors like Buried Alive. Once the graveyard holds the essential pieces, casting Nethroi, Apex of Death for its mutate cost returns up to 10 total power of creatures directly to the battlefield. This immediately assembles an infinite sacrifice loop between Karmic Guide and Reveillark alongside a free sacrifice outlet like Viscera Seer and a drain payoff like Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat. With secondary mass recursion from Living Death and Eerie Ultimatum, the deck maintains strong late-game inevitability even against board wipes. It trades competitive speed and countermagic for high synergy, layered recursion, and an explosive one-turn kill.
