Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis spellslinger and midrange strategy helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord. It accelerates into Sauron on Turn 4 using efficient 2-mana artifacts. Once on the battlefield, Sauron punishes opponents for casting spells by growing an Orc Army token, while his ward ability heavily protects him against targeted removal. Combat damage from the Army triggers the Ring tempts mechanic, enabling the deck to discard its hand and draw four fresh cards each turn cycle. This immense card churn quickly digs into heavy interaction, graveyard recursion, and explosive finishing spells like Chandra's Ignition, Soul Immolation, and Essence Harvest. The deck balances aggressive token combat with strong reactive control, leveraging free spells like Fierce Guardianship and Deadly Rollick to maintain board dominance and close out games reliably by Turn 7.
