Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Group Slug strategy led by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost, continuous damage sources like Roiling Vortex, Zo-Zu the Punisher, and Razorkin Needlehead to guarantee that opponents lose life on each of their turns. When Valgavoth enters the battlefield on Turn 3 or 4, these steady pings trigger Valgavoth up to three times per turn cycle, drawing three fresh cards and growing the commander into a massive flying threat. The deck converts this overwhelming card advantage into game-ending pressure by resolving damage multipliers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Fiery Emancipation, or punishing enchantments like Manabarbs. Robust stack redirects and targeted removal protect your board and disrupt faster opponents, grinding opposing life totals down while keeping your hand full and closing the game around Turn 7.
