Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos group-slug and midrange engine commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy revolves around deploying low-cost enchantments and creatures that guarantee opponent life loss on every turn, such as Spiteful Visions, Fate Unraveler, and Mogis, God of Slaughter. Once Valgavoth enters the battlefield, these continuous pings trigger its ability on each opponent's turn, rapidly inflating the Demon's power while drawing three fresh cards every turn cycle. The deck leverages this massive card velocity to consistently hit land drops, deploy heavy removal spells, and maintain board dominance. While it lacks instant-win combos, it grinds down opposing life totals through steady burn, punishing taxes, and massive commander damage, closing the game with explosive finishers like Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Massacre Wurm.
